Tonic Social

If you are looking for somewhere a little bit different in the centre of Bournemouth, I can recommend Tonic Social.

I was invited to their launch event a couple of weeks ago, it's a new bar situated at the bottom level of the Hilton Hotel on Exeter Road. Having spent a couple of hours there on a Friday night I would say it falls somewhere between a pub, a chic bar and a club in the evening but during the daytime it becomes a place to meet for coffee, brunch/lunch or maybe just a beer.

We met up with some friends, drank a cocktail or two and sampled some of their tapas style dishes.

Again something a little different, beerkins, crips cockles, scotch eggs and hallumi fries.Handy to Food is served all day

It has a very laid-back vibe with seating outside on a terrace, around the bar area and has several more secluded areas. The music was a really nice touch, played by a very cool DJ, but at a decent volume so you could still enjoy the beat but carry on with your own conversations.

I think this is one of the many reasons why Tonic Social have got this just right, its appeal is across a wide spectrum, but delivers the right experience for each group, no matter what experience you are after and at whatever time of day. It still though delivers a clever brand and theme without trying too hard and without ending up just a bit vanilla. The outside area of tonic social is really lovely and I hope that the dry weather continues so that new visitors to the bar can appreciate this space. I did notice i think the heaters outside so as the temperature drops you would benefit from them.

I have already spoken to several of my network about Tonic Social, it really is something a bit different in Bournemouth and great place to visit for a coffee and danish during the day as well as a cheeky cocktail in the evening. Roll on the next excuse to visit.

Opening hours are as follows:

Sun - Wed 10.30 - 11.00pm

Thurs 10.30 - 12.00pm

Fri 10.30 - 1.00pm
