The Cave opens at Makla Southbourne, Bournemouth
Southbourne based Moroccan restaurant Makla Bistro has launched a new entertaining space.
The Cave at Makla, run by husband and wife team Vicky and Karim Beraou can cater for 34 seated and 50 standing guests, and represents a major expansion of the popular Seaborne Road bistro.
Offering an authentic and vibrant Moroccan dining experience, the couple had a wonderful time introducing invited guests to the new space, which included bloggers, media and local business owners.
The lower level cave is the ideal spot for private parties, special occasions and smaller corporate gatherings.
Vicky and Karim Beraou said: “Once you step foot into Makla, we want you to feel yourself being transported to Morocco.
A lot of love and care goes into our food and we offer gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian options.
We’re super excited with the new space which will be used for late night dining and cocktails Friday and Saturday and for private events the rest of the time”
The Cave at Makla serves a wide range of drinks, from Moroccan tea to wine, spirits and cocktails, Moroccan tapas dishes to share, traditional tagines, plus chargrilled grills to diners’ preferences.
Offering late night dining, Marla accepts orders up to 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday, has a 1am
drinks’ licence, stages belly dancing for ladies every Thursday, followed by acoustic sets on Friday and
Saturday from 10pm to 1am – and a Fairtrade Souk will be coming soon on Sundays.
Vicky and Karim Beraou added: “We are very excited to have a ‘fez-tastic’ new space which is perfectly suited to private events and we look forward to welcoming old and new customers.”
