Food and Drink at The Restaurant at Hotel Collingwood, Bournemouth, Dorset
Located in the heart of Bournemouth, Hotel Collingwood offers not only comfortable accommodations and a welcoming atmosphere but also a delightful dining experience in its stylish Gold Room. Whether you're staying at the hotel or simply looking for a wonderful meal in the town, the restaurant at Hotel Collingwood promises an experience that celebrates the best of British cuisine with a modern twist.
The Gold Room - A Warm and Inviting Setting
The restaurant at Hotel Collingwood is designed to offer a warm, relaxed ambiance, making it an ideal place to enjoy a quiet meal, a special celebration, or even a leisurely afternoon tea. With its elegant décor and attentive service (special thanks to Amanda), the restaurant creates an atmosphere where guests can unwind and indulge in delicious food and drinks.
A Menu Packed with Flavour
At Hotel Collingwood’s restaurant, the focus is on quality, fresh ingredients, and exceptional flavour. Their carefully crafted menus change seasonally, highlighting the best of local produce and ensuring that every dish is a treat for the taste buds. Our starter included the very first asparagus of the season grown only a few miles from the hotel, it was a real treat.

For lunch and dinner, the menu offers a range of choices that cater to all tastes with a selection of dishes from the sea, from the farm, and from the field. Being a smaller family-run hotel, the dishes can be more easily customised to meet the guests' preferences.

For the main course, the restaurant offers a variety of hearty and satisfying dishes. The Battered Cod & Chips is a favourite for those seeking a traditional British meal, with peas tartare sauce and lemon. For seafood lovers, there is a Fish of the Day, with a butter bean, pancetta and chorizo cassoulet with tarragon.
We opted for the special dish of the day and the Surf & Turf all super tasty and well presented.
No matter what you choose for your main course, it is always complemented by freshly prepared sides, such as creamy mashed potatoes, crispy fries, or a seasonal salad.
For dessert, we chose the freshly baked apple strudel, featuring numerous layers of juicy apples and a light, flaky pastry.

The Perfect Spot for Any Occasion
Whether you’re a guest at the hotel or simply looking for a meal out in Bournemouth, the food and drink offering at the Hotel Collingwood restaurant is sure to impress.
So, the next time you find yourself in Bournemouth, be sure to make time to visit the restaurant at Hotel Collingwood—your taste buds will thank you.
