I certainly recommend food and drink at The Captain’s Club Restaurant, Christchurch Dorset.

Nestled along the banks of the River Stour in Christchurch, Dorset, The Captain’s Club Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience that is as much about the stunning views as it is about the food. Whether you’re enjoying a casual lunch with friends, a romantic dinner, or a special celebration, the restaurant’s seasonal menu paired with carefully selected drinks ensures that each visit is memorable. Trust me I've tried it all.

The Restaurant features a warm, welcoming ambiance with stylish nautical-inspired décor, reflecting its riverside location. With an inviting atmosphere, it’s the perfect setting for a relaxing meal or to simply enjoy a drink while watching the boats or paddle boarders drift by.

The restaurant prides itself on serving high-quality, seasonal British food, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Chef Mo changes the menu regularly to reflect the best produce available throughout the year, and this commitment to seasonality ensures that guests always enjoy dishes packed with flavour.

Start your meal with a selection of appetizers we chose the generous prawn cocktail and fresh and healthy Beetroot and Avocado salad.

For the main course, there is a fantastic range of options and of course, there’s always a wonderful selection of daily specials, which often include freshly caught fish or inventive takes on classic British dishes.

From the Water; fresh fish is of course, a highlight, with several staples and the addition of catch of the day.

From the Land

For meat lovers, you will always find a selection of steaks on the menu but my personal favourite is lamb, so an easy decision when I saw the pistachio crusted lamb rump on the menu it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and rich in flavour, served with Dauphinoise potato, tender stem broccoli, baby beet root and beetroot puree on the menu.

No meal is complete without dessert, and The Captain’s Club Restaurant delivers beautifully crafted sweet treats. The sticky toffee pudding is a classic, rich and indulgent, with a warm, spongy texture and sweet toffee sauce that’s perfect when paired with vanilla ice cream.

Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a delightful meal in one of the most picturesque settings in Dorset, The Captain’s Club Restaurant is the ideal choice. With its beautifully executed menu, fantastic drinks list, and the best of local ingredients, it provides an experience that is always a treat.

Next time you’re in Christchurch, Dorset, don’t miss the opportunity to dine at this wonderful riverside hotel restaurant. With its fantastic food, incredible views, and warm atmosphere, The Captain’s Club Restaurant is sure to leave you craving a return visit.
